No scam-detection tool is perfect. Scam SafeGuard may sometimes flag safe sites (false positives) or miss dangerous ones (false negatives). It is one layer of protection, not a guarantee — always stay cautious online.

Google Web Risk threat data

We check links against Google's Web Risk feed, a commercial threat database also used by major browsers.

Global scam blocklists, updated regularly

One wrong click is all it takes.

Scam links arrive in texts, emails, and social media posts that look completely real. By the time a fake site has loaded, the damage can already be done.

Scam SafeGuard checks the link first and warns you — so you have a chance to stop before a bad click leads to a stolen password or an empty bank account.

What we protect you from

Real protection, in the places scams actually happen

Scam links on social media

Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok are now the most common source of scams. Click a link from social media and we check where it really goes — before it opens.

Fake online shops

A website selling designer goods at impossible prices that launched last week? We check a site's age and patterns, and flag fake storefronts before you enter your card.

Suspicious texts & messages

Got a dodgy SMS or WhatsApp? Paste it into "Check a Message" and we'll scan every link inside it in seconds. Perfect for the AusPost, myGov, or Linkt text that doesn't look right.

Links in your email and messages

Click a link in Gmail, Outlook, or WhatsApp Web and we check it before it opens — automatically, nothing for you to do. Known safe sites (your bank, AusPost, myGov) load instantly. Unfamiliar ones get a quiet check first.

We check your links — not your emails
Step-by-step guide

Our simple guide covers every feature — with pictures. From checking a suspicious text to setting up Caregiver Lock for a parent.

Privacy by design

We check your links, not your correspondence.

Other browser security tools ask for full access to your inbox. We don't. Scam SafeGuard's email feature reads only the web addresses (links) in a message — not your subject lines, message text, sender details, or attachments.

We see the address on the envelope, never what's written inside.

This is how the email feature is designed to work.
For families

Help protect your parents from scams that target older Australians.

Scams aimed at older Australians are common and costly. Scam SafeGuard adds a quiet extra layer of warning while a parent browses, shops, and reads their email.

Install Scam SafeGuard on a parent's laptop in 60 seconds. It runs quietly in the background, catching dangerous links before they cause harm — without ever watching what they browse.

Use Caregiver Lock to protect the settings with a 4-digit PIN — so they can't be turned off by accident, or by a scammer on the phone asking your parent to disable their protection.

With the Family plan, you get a simple weekly summary of what was checked and what was blocked — so you know they're safe, without ever seeing their browsing history.

Why I built this

I spent years studying how people are manipulated online. Then I built the protection I wished existed.

My background is in psychology and neuroscience — I hold a PhD focused on how people think, decide, and get manipulated without realising it. Part of that research looked at how gambling apps use targeted notifications during sports games to nudge people into betting: engineered urgency, the right emotional moment, pressure to act before you think. Scammers use the exact same playbook.

I've also watched people I care about — smart, careful, capable people — lose serious money to scams designed by professionals to be convincing. In some cases, life-changing amounts.

So I built Scam SafeGuard around one idea: protection that works with how people actually behave online, not against it. No friction. No jargon. Just a quiet layer that warns you about dangerous links before you enter them — whether you're technical or not.

Good questions

The things people ask first

Is it really free?
Yes. The free plan checks links as you browse, protects you on social media, and includes 10 message checks a month — at no cost, forever. You only pay if you want unlimited checks, email scanning, or family protection.
Do you read my emails?
No. Scam SafeGuard's email feature reads only the web addresses (links) in a message — not your subject lines, message text, sender details, or attachments. That's how the feature is designed to work.
Will it slow down my browsing?
No. Checks happen in a fraction of a second in the background. You won't notice it working until it catches something dangerous.
Can I protect my parents' privacy while still helping them?
Yes — that's exactly what the Family plan is designed for. You receive a weekly summary of how many links were checked and how many were blocked. You never see their actual browsing history. It's protection, not surveillance.
How do I cancel?
In a couple of clicks, any time, with no phone calls or hoops. If you cancel within 30 days, you get a full refund — no questions asked.

Browse with a little less worry.
