Payments and trial

What happens after your 14-day trial?

Your core link protection stays free forever — the trial only affects a couple of extra features, and only if you haven't subscribed by day 14.

What stays free, always

The main protection — checking the links you click and warning you about dangerous ones — is free for every user, forever. This never changes, whether or not you ever subscribe.

What changes at day 14, if you haven't subscribed

  • The extra inbox and social media checking layer stops. During the trial, Scam SafeGuard also checks links inside webmail (like Gmail) and social media feeds. Without a subscription, this extra layer switches off after day 14 — your main link protection keeps working everywhere else.
  • Maximum Protection moves to Standard Protection. If your protection level was set to Maximum Protection, it moves back to Standard. Warnings still appear for risky sites. If nothing else on the device restricts you, you'll be able to continue past them from then on, the way Standard Protection normally works — but if a caregiver has also turned on the Lock, that keeps its own hold on warnings regardless of your protection level, and continuing past them still won't be possible.

You don't need a card to start the trial — it begins automatically when you install, and nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe.

If you subscribe

None of the above applies — your inbox and social media protection, and Maximum Protection if you've set it, both continue for as long as your subscription is active.

Refunds

Australian Consumer Law gives you consumer guarantees that apply to this purchase, and those rights can't be excluded or reduced by anything we say — they exist regardless of any refund window we offer. Separately, we also offer a voluntary 30-day refund if you'd simply like your money back within your first month — see "Your subscription, payments and refunds" for how to request either.
