How do I tell if Scam SafeGuard is switched on and working?
Click the shield icon in your toolbar — if it opens a window showing your protection is active, it's working.
- Look for the shield icon on your Chrome toolbar (see "How to pin the shield" if you can't find it).
- Click the shield icon.
- A small window (the popup) will open. It should show that protection is on, with no warnings asking you to fix anything.
- If you want to double-check it's actually checking pages, visit any well-known website (like a news site) and watch for a moment — you won't see anything happen, because a safe site shows no warning at all. That's normal. Scam SafeGuard only shows something on screen when it finds a problem.
